Extending Sense or Power Leads
There will be some installations where the standard lead lengths will not be long enough to make
connections. For example, when connecting UXBMs across intertier or inter-row connections could
expand well beyond the standard lead length. Each installation kit will include a set of extension kits that
includes extra sense lead and power wire with additional connectors to allow splicing. When a lead
needs to be extended, cut a required length of the appropriate wire from one of these kits and crimp
the proper connectors on the wire.
In the event where UXBM sense leads need to be extended, do not extend these longer than twenty
feet. If longer sense leads are required contact Albér for further assistance.

Systems with Disconnect Switches
There should never be a connection across a disconnect switch when the voltage can exceed 95 VDC
across the switch when it is opened up on an energized battery. The following are drawings to help
illustrate the proper connection.
