Installation

Clearance and Airflow Requirements - Ceiling Unit

600mm clearance is required around the unit to ensure correct, efficient operation. This is for both airflow and

mechanical services. Return air from the ceiling void enters the unit on three sides.

The Artus unit is designed for a very low pressure drop on the air side and an appropriate return air path must be

provided when used in a false ceiling. Without this the fan duty may reduce, the specific fan power may increase and the

noise may increase.

This air path may be provided by return air grilles, air handling light fittings or other architectural details or openings such

as flash gaps. The area of return air path should match the open area of the supply fascia.

For example, for each 600mm x 600mm Artus unit with a free area of 22%, a return air path of free area of 0.08m

should be provided.
