General Maintenance

It may be necessary to cover any office equipment situated below the unit being serviced. Seek permission before

switching off any equipment that needs to be covered. Take care not to damage, stain or mark ceiling tiles. Clean gloves

are beneficial. The unit should be serviced in accordance with the HVCA’s Standard Maintenance Specification for

Mechanical Services in Buildings (87). In very dusty environments or where contaminants are present more frequent

servicing may be necessary. After removing access panels the condition of fans, motors and coils should be checked

and, if necessary, these components should be cleaned, particularly if filters have previously failed through lack of

service or maintenance.

Accessibility

The design of the system allows servicing to be carried out readily and easily. Lowering the fascia enables access and

allows replacement of certain parts.

Electrical

The equipment has been designed and manufactured to meet international safety standards but, like any mechanical/

electrical equipment, care must be taken if you are to obtain the best results.

Before carrying out any work on these units:

Isolate the electrical supply from the mains.

●

Ensure that the rated voltage of the unit corresponds to the nameplate before carrying out any wiring.

●

The unit must be grounded to prevent possible hazards due to installation failure.

● All wires must be firmly connected.

General

The equipment contains live electrical and moving parts. Isolate all electrical equipment before any maintenance/

report work is carried out. The maintenance schedule indicates the recommended time period between maintenance

operations.

Ensure that ALL power to the unit is switched OFF before carrying out any servicing or

maintenance tasks.
