Water Control Valve
2 Port Pressure Independent Control Valve (PIC Valve). 0-10V.
Constant flow is achieved by use of the PIC valve. The PIC valve operates on a principle of equal percentage.
● Excellent valve authority and control - not affected by system pressure fluctuations.
● Can be used in conjunction with variable speed pumps for increased system efficiency without affecting valve
authority and control.
●
0-10V modulating control on valve position.
●
Easy to commission and hydraulically balance.
The graph below shows how an equal percentage valve (such as the PIC valve) provides a linear incremental increase
in cooling/heating output as the valve changes position. If a linear valve were used (such as the 2 port or 3 port control
valve) the incremental change in cooling/heating output would vary depending on valve position. This basically means
that the PIC valve provides stable off-coil temperatures as the room load changes.

3 Port Thermic On/ Off Valve
For changeover systems a 3 port thermic valve shall be positioned on the return side to switch between heating and
cooling.
Do not use a differential pressure control valve and a PICV in the same system. These two
components will work against each other and will affect performance.
