Fault
Possible Cause
Remedy/action
Unit will not start
No power
Check ON/OFF switch is in the ON position.
Check fuse (F1).
Check power supply to the controller.
Controller failure
No lights on controller when power is applied, check/replace
microprocessor.
Wired incorrectly
Check wire connections in accordance with wiring diagram on
control box lid.
Loose wires
Check all wires, connections, terminals etc.
Fans will not run
Loose wires
Check all fan wire connections, terminations etc.
Faulty motor
Check fan motor, replace if faulty.
Controller fault
If fans can be operated by bypassing the microprocessor,
then the microprocessor is faulty and requires replacing/
investigation.
Excessive noise
Obstacle caught in fan
Remove any obstacle from fan.
Worn fan motor
Replace fan motor.
No cooling
Incorrect mode setting.
Check that the transmitter mode is set to cooling or auto mode.
Set point too high
Check the set point and adjust if necessary.
Blocked or dirty filter
Remove filter and clean/replace.
High condensate level
trip
Drain the condensate tray and investigate the cause of the trip.
Loss of cooling
Check cooling signal is present from controller.
Check valve manually by removing the actuator. Squeeze the
clips holding the actuator in place to remove it from the valve
and replace it if necessary, ensuring that the holding clips click
back into place. (1)
Return air sensor failure If this sensor is faulty the microprocessor will prevent
operation.
Faulty valve actuator
Check cooling signal present at actuator.
Check actuator by manually opening the valve. Replace
actuator if necessary.
No heating (full function &
heat only units)
Incorrect mode setting
Check that the transmitter mode is set to heating or auto mode.
Set point too low
Check the set point and adjust if necessary.
Faulty valve actuator
Check heating signal present at actuator.
Check valve manually by removing the actuator. Squeeze the
clips holding the actuator in place to remove it from the valve
and replace it if necessary, ensuring that the holding clips click
back into place. (1)
Sensor failure
If any of the sensors are faulty the microprocessor will prevent
operation.
Troubleshooting
General Alarms
Actuator heads should not be removed from the valve body of the Artus unit during normal operation
or maintenance; it may cause the changeover operation to malfunction.
If actuator heads are removed for troubleshooting purposes, follow the steps on p.69 to
recommission the valves once they have been placed back into the Artus.
