Glue together parts 182, 190, 191 to form the winch head and
slide onto shaft 188.
Bend photo etched part 192 around suitable dowel and glue to
top of windlass.
Drill handwheel 193 with 3 mm and install a piece of snake outer
as sleeve for poper fit on shaft. Drill handwheel for handle 194
with 1 mm, glue handle in place and install handwheel on shaft.
Tip:
For best results use a vice to bend cover
192. Press cover and suitable dowel against a
softer material (e. g. balsa wood) until correct
curvature is achieved.
Bend handle of photo etched
handwheel 195 of friction brake by 90°.
Glue handwheel to shaft 196.
Glue together parts 197 to form handwheel support, sand lightly and
glue to pedestal. Make sure that tabs of friction brake rest in recess of
support.
Glue handwheel shaft into tabs of friction brake.
Note:
Give winch head and gypsies a more
realistic appearance with a simple
method.
Fit assemblies onto M3 screw or
similar and fit to a cordless
screwdriver. Shape centre section of
assemblies with a small round file at
low speed.
