Assemble and glue together parts 171, 172, 173 to form
the pedestal for the windlass.

Attention:

Part 171 is not symmetrical! Before you

glue, place part 174 on top of part 171 to make sure
part 171 is glued in place correctly.

When dry, round off corners of pedestal with a small
sanding block. If necessary, use a sanding block to adapt
contact surface of pedestal to deck contour.

Note:

Apply sanding sealer to plywood parts and sand

lightly before you paint.

Glue photo etched part 174 onto pedestal, then glue
in place supports 175, 176 and photo etched parts
177, 178 into pedestal as illustrated.
Make sure, that supports are absolutely vertical on
pedestal.

Make up two identical assemblies from parts 179 to 183. To do so, slide
parts 179 to 182 onto shaft 188 and glue together. Bend photo etched
part 183 around suitable dowel for correct radius, then glue to disc 182.
When dry, remove assemblies from shaft and place between supports
together with gear wheel 184 and washer 185. Slide shaft 188 through
supports and assemblies (install symmetrically).

Install gear wheel 186 and washer 187 on shaft 189 and make sure that
gears are engaged.
