Switching from PageMaker to InDesign CS2
Fitting a graphics within a frame
The Fill Frame Proportionally option, new InDesign CS2 automatically resizes a graphic to fill
its frame while preserving the graphic’s original proportions. If the content and the frame have
different proportions, some of the graphic is cropped by the frame’s bounding box.
The two images on the left are the original, unscaled graphic. Choosing Fill Frame Proportionally produced the
two images on the right. Top right: A portion of the image along the right edge is cropped to accommodate the
vertical frame shape. Bottom right: A portion of the image along the bottom edge is cropped to accommodate
the horizontal frame shape.
