3 Automatic Needle Alignement
3-8
Needle Alignment Mode
At “Auto Select”, a number of pads within the
number input in “Maximum Needle Alignment
Pads” below and their corresponding probe tips
are automatically chosen for the pad alignment. At
“All Pads”, all the registered pads and
corresponding probes are aligned. At “Manual
Select”, manually selected pads and their
corresponding probes are aligned.
Maximum Needle Alignment Pads
Not effective with “All Pads” chosen in the above
“Needle Alignment Mode”. For a multi-site card,
this max. number is divided by the number of sites
to determine the limit of Auto-selecting
pads/probes for each site.
Needle Alignment Fine Adjustment Data X/Y
For automatically shifting the pad position with the
set of probes after completion of the pad
alignment. The manual shift amounts determined
by the JOY STICK operation on the Probe-pad
alignment position correction screen, however, are
fed back to these parameters, entry of specific
values is not necessary.
Probe Card Center Position
For judging the card center (probe group center)
from the die center or the group center of
registered pads. (For a multi-site card, the site
center can be judged from the corresponding die
center or the center of pad group for the site.)
Probe Card Center Offset X/Y
In the pad alignment, appropriate offset values
can be automatically entered. For a new device,
enter ‘0’.
Needle Height Mode (Auto Focus)
At “Auto Select”, a number of probes within the
next “Maximum Auto Focus Needles” are chosen
automatically for the probe tip height
measurement with Auto-focusing. At “All Needles”,
probes corresponding to all the registered pads
are height-measured. The next becomes invalid.
Maximum Auto Focus Needles
At “Auto Select” chosen in the above “Needle
Height Mode (Auto Focus)”, this parameter
becomes invalid. For a multi-site card, this max.
number is divided by the number of sites to
determine the limit of Auto Selecting Probes for
each site.
Needle Height Position Setting
When the probe tip contact height is determined
from the result of probe height measurements with
Auto-focusing, “Average” is to use the average
height of measured probes; “Last Contact” is to
make the contact height determined from the
highest probe tip as viewed from the camera while
“First Contact” is to use the lowest probe tip which
will be contacted at first. (Refer to the Basic
