eighteen instances of switchgear objects are included in the basic delivery. For larger

applications covering, an optional circuit breaker package is available which expands the

number of controllable switching objects to nine circuit breakers and all operating at a 3ms

cycle time.

Figure

shows a typical usage of SAM600-IO in a double busbar arrangement, covering the

I/O signals from all primary switchgear objects. SAM600-IO is typically chained in an HSR loop

with SAM600 merging units on an IEC 61850 process bus, receiving and publishing IEC 61850

GOOSE information to protection and control IEDs, such as Relion 670 series.
