4.2.2 CREATION OF SOURCE FILE USING NOTEPAD
The procedure for generating a source file using NotePad is the following:
1. Open the NotePad software.
2. Insert one user per line, following this syntax: field [SEPARATOR] field [SEPARATOR].
Only one of the following characters can be used as separators:

TAB
•
;
The order of fields must be as specified in ‘Data to be inserted in the source file’.
3. Save the file thus created.
Example:
Suppose you want to insert three users with the following codes:
Key number Last name First name PIN Department Period Charge Limit
128 Last name1 First name1 Fortnightly
129 Last name2 First name2 Monthly
130 Last name3 First name3 Weekly
The file thus produced with NotePad is displayed in the following figure:
You will notice that only three obligatory fields and an optional field (Period) have been specified.
In the example shown, the character “ ; ” has been used as a separator.
