8.2.1 Oil change
To maintain vacuum pump efficiency over time, periodically check the oil level and its degree of
purity via the spy-hole (4).
The SATOVAC vacuum pump is packaged together with a bottle containing the oil for the first filling.
Change this oil after the first 150 working hours (approx.); then, unless there are specific impurity
problems, the oil should be changed every 700-900 machine hours. In any case change the oil at least
every 6-7 months.
To change the oil proceed as follows:

large to contain the used oil. Loosen the pump bleed
valve (8).
Undo the drain plug (10) with an Allen key.

Fig. 7: Position the container under the oil drain plug
and collect the oil that flows out of the pump casing.
Run the pump for about 30 seconds (without oil) and let
the oil drip until it is completely empty.
Replace the drain plug (10) and introduce the new oil as
described in 6.5.1.
Dispose of waste oil as indicated in 5.4.
Use protective gloves during oil filling and draining work.
