6.3.2 Laser treatment with the laser endoprobe
WARNING!
Hazard due to laser radiation
Imprecise localization of the target area may result in injury.

Only operate the foot switch if you have clearly localized the
target area and are sure that you wish to use the therapy laser
beam.

Touching the tissue with the laser endoprobe may result in injury.

Do not fire the laser beam if the tip of the laser endoprobe is
touching the tissue.
CAUTION!
Hazard due to laser radiation
Wrong selection of the application device may result in injury.

Never commence treatment if device other than the laser
endoprobe is displayed as the application device on the control
panel.
CAUTION!
Hazard due to laser radiation
The physician's eyes may be harmed by the laser beam.
u
Before carrying out treatment, check that the physician's safety
filter is installed in the surgical microscope. The physician's
safety filter is labeled with a continuous green strip and the
words "VISULAS Safety Filter 532 nm".
Action 1. Start the laser console as described in Section Installation
[
}
43].
2. Turn on the laser console using the key switch.
3. Set the desired laser parameters on the control panel in the
"Prepare" work step.
4. Select the laser endoprobe as applicator.
5. In the following query, select the type of physician's safety filter
to be used ("active" or "passive").
6. Connect the laser endoscope to the laser console (see Section
Connecting the laser endoprobe [ } 52]).
7. Switch the aiming beam on.
8. Hold the tip of the laser endoprobe near a surface and adjust
the brightness of the aiming beam.
9. Introduce the laser endoprobe.
10. Switch to the "Treat" work step. The foot trigger is now
activated.
