Safety system Effect
Laser manual / foot trigger The system incorporates a manual / foot
trigger for laser beam control. The laser
beam can be applied to the patient's eye
by actuation of the manual / foot trigger.
The laser beam can be interrupted at any
time by releasing the manual / foot
trigger.
Laser stop switch The laser stop switch interrupts the laser
beam in order to avoid endangering
persons. The laser stop switch is struc-
turally independent of all other laser
shutoff systems. When the laser stop
switch is pressed, the system goes into the
“Prepare” work step and all functions on
the control unit are locked. To resume
operation, press the laser stop switch
again.
Laser energy monitoring The system internally monitors laser
energy and other parameters. If limits are
exceeded, laser release is disabled.
