FAULT FINDING GUIDE
FAULT
1.
The green power light on the Control Head is not on.
REASON & REMEDY
Check the supply outlet; check the 5A supply fuse next to the supply cable entry.
FAULT
2.
The safety light remains lit all of the time.
REASON & REMEDY
A.
There is no safety device fitted. The system requires constant pressure on the ILLUMINATED
button to close the door.
B.
The safety device is not correctly wired or is not properly aligned. Refer to page 9.
FAULT
3.
The safety light will not come on when the photo-‐eye beam is broken.
REASON & REMEDY
The Control Box has gone to sleep after 5 minutes on the ground. Press a button to wake it up.
FAULT
4.
The Control Box beeps 3 times and will not enter calibration mode.
REASON & REMEDY
A.
Make sure that the AUTOCLOSE switch on the Control Box circuit board is turned off.
B.
Unplug the Control Head supply cable, wait 5 seconds and plug the supply back in.
FAULT
5.
The Control Box beeps rapidly when the door stops moving in diagnostic mode or the opening or
closing light keeps flashing after the door has stopped moving during normal operation.
6.
The Control Head squeals when the door stops moving during normal operation.
7.
During normal operation, the door closes to the ground, stops for a few seconds and then
automatically opens.
REASON & REMEDY
A.
The V-‐belt tension is too loose and the belt is slipping over the motor pulley. Increase the tension
by releasing the Manual Override Lever and screwing the hook in a few turns. Re-‐calibrate and
make sure that the Control Box doesn’t beep rapidly at the end of diagnostic runs. The 88701
operator is fitted with an override release spring, allowance must be made for the Manual
Override Lever to compress the override release spring as well as tensioning the V-‐belt.
B.
If the Manual Override Lever is properly tightened and the V-‐belt continues to slip then the
obstruction tolerance may need to be reduced (see Installer Programming on page 11). The
system must be re-‐calibrated after altering the obstruction tolerance.
C.
If reducing the obstruction tolerance doesn’t prevent the belt from slipping at the ground then it
is possible to reduce the final closing force by releasing the PROGRAM button just before the
door reaches the ground during calibration step
2
, the force can be further reduced by leaving
calibration after step
3
by pressing and releasing the PROGRAM button once the door has
finished the automatic close cycle at the end of step
3
. Refer to pages 9 and 10.
D.
If the belt is still slipping at the fully open position then either release the PROGRAM button just
before the door reaches the fully open position during calibration step
2
as described in “C.”
above, or program the door to open to a set position (see Installer Programming on page 11).
