network. The Output writes to the designated internal register according to the format specified
and shown under the Type column. The designated register can be read by an external Modbus
Master.

Switched 12V Out
The Switched 12V Out Port is located between the SDI-12 ports and Power connectors on the
front panel.
This Output will only appear in the Add Output list if the Switched 12V mode is set to Task-
Selected within the System Settings. By default, the Switched 12V excitation is set to be always
on. To save power or have finer control over the port, the Task-Selected option can be chosen to
determine the exact times the port will be active. More information regarding the Switched 12V
modes can be found in Chapter 10 under the System Settings section.
Mode: The Switched 12V port can be set active based on a condition or simply set to turn on
during that scan period.
Normal: The excitation port will turn On and Off based on the Condition. The output
will stay On until the Condition returns false (non-positive). Logical Conditions, such as
HG > 0, are suggested, as they return a simple true or false response. Calculations that
