JOHNSON CONTROLS

To protect warranty, this equipment
must be installed and serviced by an
authorized YORK service mechanic or
a qualifi ed service person experienced
in air handling and condenser unit
installation. Installation must comply
with all applicable codes, particularly
in regard to electrical wiring and other
safety elements.
Lethal voltages exist within the control
panel. Before servicing, open and tag
all disconnect switches.
PRE-STARTUP REQUIREMENTS
1. Inspect the unit for shipping or installation dam-
age.
2. Verify the unit is completely and properly installed
with ductwork connected. Verify that all construc-
tion debris is removed and fi lters are clean.
3. With all electrical disconnects open, check all
electrical connections to be sure they are tight.
4. Check the control panel to assure it is free of for-
eign material (wires, metal chips, etc).
5. Visually inspect fi eld wiring (power and control).
Wiring must meet NEC and local codes.
6. Verify fuse sizing in main circuits.
7. On VAV and FlexSys units verify the pneumatic
tubing has been fi eld installed between the pres-
sure transducer in the unit and the probe(s) in the
ductwork or underfl oor space.
8. Check the tightness of setscrews in bearings,
drives, and fan wheels
(see Table 10).
9. Verify the supply fan hold down bolts have been
removed (refer to Figure 2).
10. Verify the supply fan rotates freely. Verify proper
drive alignment of the supply fan.

11. Verify the unit chilled water connections and con-
densate drain connections have been piped.
12. Verify the entering and leaving chilled water tem-
perature sensors are mounted.
13. Verify the return air temperature sensor and op-
tional outdoor temperature sensors have been
installed and that the wiring has been made to the
Unit Control Board.
Refer to Unit Wiring Dia-
gram.
14. Verify that all mechanical and electrical inspections
have been completed per local codes.
15. Make sure the trap for the main drain pan and
the drain pan under the supply blower have been
primed by pouring water in both pans until water
exits the condensate drain line.
16. Read Section 5 of this manual in order to under-
stand the sequence of operation and Section 6
to understand how to navigate through the User
Interface.
