MAC 500 Operating Instructions

Introduction

The MAC 500 is a mobile air conditioner based on the established ‘’split system’’ air conditioning unit.
The machine is supplied in 2 sections, the Cooling Console (room unit) plus a Dry Cooler (outdoor

section) with attached flexible lines.

Locating the MAC 500

The MAC 500 indoor unit should be positioned in the room that requires air conditioning. It should be sited so that the air can
circulate freely with no obstructions around the discharge air grille and/or the return grille. It must be positioned in an area

where it is accessible to place the condensing unit outside taking into consideration the length of the flexible lines. When
connecting or disconnecting the lines there may be a small amount of water spillage. To prevent this from happening, use either

a cloth or a small container under the connections to catch the excess water.
The outdoor unit must be connected to the indoor unit using the flexible lines provided. The unit must be positioned outside of

the air conditioned room, and requires a free supply of air. Do not obstruct the air flow over its heat exchanger, and do not locate
the unit in a confined space or area where the heat produced will cause the temperature to rise above 35°C. Usually the outdoor

unit is better located outside the building.
Do not locate the outdoor unit more than 5 metres above the indoor unit. The outdoor unit can be stood on any level, firm

service.
While the unit is cooling, it will produce condensate (water) in the indoor unit. This will automatically be pumped through the

flexible lines and water is discharged from the outdoor unit. The outdoor unit should be positioned so that the water can drain
away or evaporate without causing any problems.
