JOHNSON CONTROLS
FORM 145.05-NOM2 (807)
STEAM HEAT
Specifi cation
The steam coil is a factory installed option and is located
on the return side of the unit. The wiring for the valve
is connected to the Unit Control and routed to the steam
heating coil; however, the steam heat control valve is
not shipped with the unit. The unit can be ordered and
confi gured for either Tri-State steam heat or Modulating
steam heat. The valve needs to be selected based on the
type of heat, capacity, and steam pressure. For Tri-State
steam heat a fl oating point valve would be required that
operates off a 24-volt input. If Modulating steam heat
is desired the valve would operate off a 24-volt power
supply with a 0 – 10 VDC control signal (0 VDC for
fully closed and 10 VDC for fully open).
Steam Piping
Piping must comply with local plumb-
ing codes and ordinances.
Due to the variety of piping practices, it is advisable
to follow the recommendations of local authorities.
They can supply the installer with the proper building
and safety codes required for a safe and proper
installation.
HOT WATER HEAT
Specifi cation
The hot water coil is a factory installed option and is
located on the return side of the unit. The piping extends
outside the cabinet. The location of the hot water piping
connections will be on the same side of the unit as
the connections for the condenser water supply. The
wiring for the valve is connected to the Unit Control and
routed to the hot water valve. The unit can be ordered
and confi gured for either Tri-State hot water heat or
Modulating hot water heat heat.

ELECTRIC HEAT
The unit can be ordered with factory installed electric
heat. The electric heat option is installed on the supply
air outlet. The electric heat assembly, including the
controls, is contained within the supply air plenum on
the top of the unit.
FILTERS
Standard fi lters are 30% 2-inch. As an option, 4- inch
fi lters can be ordered with effi ciencies up to 90%. A
30% 2-inch prefi lter can also be ordered with the 4” high
effi ciency fi lter option. The fi lters are factory installed
in the fi lter/hydronic coil section of the unit, prior to the
evaporator coil. Filters must always be installed ahead
of the evaporator coil. The fi lters must be kept clean
and replaced with the same size and type as shipped with
the unit. Dirty fi lters will reduce the capacity of the unit
and may result in frosted coils and safety shutdowns.
The unit should never be operated for any length of time
without the proper fi lters installed in the unit.
