PID Feedback Loss
PID feedback loss detection is programmed to trigger a fault (b5-12 = 2) and the PID feedback
input is below the detection level set to b5-13 for longer than the time set to b5-14.
Cause
Possible Solutions
Parameters are set inappropriately.
Check the settings of parameters b5-13 and b5-14.
Incorrect PID feedback wiring
• Check for faulty wiring.
• Correct the wiring.
There is a problem with the feedback sensor.
• Check the sensor on the controller side.
• Replace the sensor if damaged.

Ground Fault
A current short to ground exceeded 50% of rated current on the output side of the drive
(Set L8-09 to 1 to enable ground fault detection.).
Cause
Possible Solutions
The motor has been damaged from overheating
or the motor insulation is damaged.
• Check the insulation resistance of the motor.
• Replace the motor.
A damaged motor cable is creating a short circuit
or there is a grounding problem.
• Check the motor cable.
• Remove the short circuit and reapply power to the drive.
• Check the resistance between the motor cables and the ground terminal
.
Replace the cable.
Large stray capacitance of cable and
terminal
• Decrease the carrier frequency if the cable length exceeds 100 m.
• Reduce the amount of stray capacitance.
Hardware problem
If the problem continues, replace the control board or the entire drive. Contact Yaskawa or a
Yaskawa representative for instructions on replacing the control board.

Input Overvoltage
The main circuit power supply voltage has exceeded the setting in L2-41 in longer than the time
set to L2-42.
Cause
Possible Solutions
Excessive rise of the power supply voltage
• Check if the power supply is appropriate.
• Adjust the power supply voltage of the main circuit (for example, changing the taps of the
transformer).
• Set L2-41 to the appropriate value.
• If detection is faulty, replace the isolation board, which detects the power supply voltage of the
main circuit, or the control board. Contact Yaskawa or a Yaskawa representative for
instructions on replacing the control board.

Power Supply Undervoltage
Power voltage has dropped for all Power Cell’s during drive operation (voltage output).
Cause
Possible Solutions
There is a problem with the voltage from the
drive power.
• Check the voltage.
• Correct the voltage to be within the range listed in drive input power specifications.
The power has been interrupted.
Correct the drive input power.

Output Phase Loss
Phase loss on the output side of the drive.
Set L8-07 to 1 or 2 to enable Phase Loss Detection.
Cause
Possible Solutions
The output cable is disconnected.
• Check for wiring errors and ensure the output cable is connected properly.
• Correct the wiring.
The motor winding is damaged.
• Check the resistance between motor lines.
• Replace the motor if the winding is damaged.
The output terminal is loose.
• Apply the tightening torque specified in this manual to fasten the terminals.
Retighten the terminals to the tightening torques specified in this manual.
and Tightening Torques on page 91
The rated current of the motor being used is less
than 5% of the drive rated current.
Check the drive and motor capacities.
An output transistor is damaged.
If the problem continues, replace the control board or the entire drive. Contact Yaskawa or a
Yaskawa representative for instructions on replacing the control board.
