Motor Direction Error (detected only during Rotational Auto-Tuning)
Cause
Possible Solutions
The connection of drive and PG encoder (pulses
A, B) or the connection of drive and motor
(phases -U, -V, and-W) is wrong.
• Check and correct wiring to the PG encoder.
• Check the wiring of motor.
Motor and PG direction are opposite.
• Check the motor speed monitor U1-05 while turning the motor manually in forward direction.
If the sign displayed is negative, change the setting of parameter F1-05.
The load pulled the motor in the opposite
direction of the speed reference and the torque
exceeded 100% in Closed Loop Vector Control.
• The motor is turning around pulled by the machine. Uncouple the motor from the machine.
• There is a problem with the PG wiring, PG rotation direction, and the setting of F1-05.
Check the PG wiring and the setting of F1-05.

Torque reference is too high during the
acceleration (only for the Open Loop Vector
Control).
• Increase the acceleration time (C1-01).
• Disconnect the machine from the motor, if possible.

Possible Solutions
One of the motor phases is missing: (U, V, W).
Check all wiring and correct any mistakes.
The current exceeded the current rating of the
motor.
• Check the motor wiring for a short between motor lines.
• If a magnetic contactor is used between motors, make sure it is closed.
• Replace the control board or the entire drive. For instructions on replacing the control board,
contact Yaskawa or your nearest sales representative.
The current is too low.
Attempted Auto-Tuning without motor
connected to the drive.
Connect the motor and perform Auto-Tuning.
Current detection signal error.
