When natural disaster comes, accident may occur if no proper and correct measures are taken,
even if the crane is out of service. For example, thunderstorm, gale and earthquake will endanger the
crane, i.e. thunderstorm may make the ground where the crane is located on sink, boom be stricken;
gale will make boom fall down due to vibration and distortion; earthquake will make the ground sink,
boom vibrate and crane tip over.
Occurrence of natural disaster is uncertain. When it occurs during operation of the crane,
immediately do the following:
•
Stop the work, and lower the load onto the ground. Retract the boom fully and position it on
boom rest;
•
Engage the brakes, stop the engine, and turn off the electrical power of all electric circuits;
•
Advise all personnel to stay away from the surrounding area of the machine.
