Control Strip Operation
The values obtained when measuring a control strip are the deviations from
the reference values. It is important to make sure control strips and reference
strips used are from the same batch number.
Always inspect control strips for damage before measuring. Care must also
be taken when handing strips. Fingerprints on measurable patches can affect
density values.
When measuring strips into the auxilary channels (aux1 - aux6), the data is
not immediataly loaded into the database. You are given the option of
loading the data into the database or not. Not loading the data allows the
auxilary channels to be used as “scratch pad” channels, where strips are
measured and viewed but not saved.
IMPORTANT!
When inserting strips into the instrument, there should be at
least a 30.5mm (1.25
”
) leader before the outside edge of the first measurable
target or the first target may not be detected. For information on measuring
leaderless strips (30.5mm), refer to your Control Strip and Balance Print
Format Guide, Section Five.
