Sawmill Maintenance
WARNING!
Always secure the cutting head with a chain or
a brace before adjusting the up/down chain. The cutting
head may fall, causing severe injury or death.
WARNING!
Always secure the cutting head with a chain or
a brace before adjusting the mast pads. The cutting head
may fall, causing severe injury or death.
CAUTION!
Reinstall the track wiper so that it lightly touches
the track rail. If the wiper presses too firmly against the rail,
it can cause the power feed to bind.
CAUTION!
Never use grease on the mast rails as it will
collect sawdust.
CAUTION!
Do not use chain lube. It causes sawdust
buildup in chain links.
CAUTION!
Due to variations in the vertical mast, the pad
spacing may vary throughout the travel of the saw head.
Check the pad spacing at the top and bottom ends of the
mast only. Pads adjusted too tight will cause premature
up/down motor failure.
CAUTION!
It is important that the lower stop bolts are
properly adjusted to secure the carriage on the track rail.
Failure to properly adjust the stop bolts can cause saw
head damage, especially during mill transportation.
