UPDATING THE PUB CARD USING A PC
1. Go to
. Click on Technical Support. From Technical Support, click on Pinball
2000 Support, then scroll down to and click on Updating Pinball 2000 (under Technical Bulletins
and Tutorial). Read all of Updating Pinball 2000 BEFORE going any further.
2. Next, download
PUB Card Manager
to your computer.
3. You may need an ISA switched extender card. We recommend SMARTEXT/150 or
SMARTEXT/200. Their web site is www.icsadvent.com/products/access/smartext_series.html
4. Turn OFF the computer.
5. Place PUB card jumper (J2) in the ON position.
6. Plug the PUB card into the ISA slot of your computer so that the components face the power
supply.
7. Turn ON the computer. Double-click the PUB Card Manager on your desktop. Follow the
prompts and load the game program of your choice. This process takes about three minutes.
8. After the program is loaded, turn OFF the computer and remove the PUB card.
If your computer's BIOS locks out the PUB Card, or to program multiple cards without powering down
your computer:
9. Turn OFF the computer.
10. Install an extender card into the ISA slot.
11. Turn power ON to the computer.
12. With the expansion card turned OFF, plug in the PUB card.
13. Turn ON the expansion card.
14. Double-click the PUB Card Manager on your desktop. Follow the prompts and load the game
program of your choice. This takes about three minutes.
15. Turn OFF the expansion card.
16. Remove the PUB card.
17. Place the jumper (J2) in the OFF position before attempting to update any game from the PUB
card.
