3.4.2 Replacing System Node 1U mounting kits
3.4.2.1 Removing a System Node 1U mounting kit
To remove a System Node 1U mounting kit:
1. Remove the System Node and its attached rails. For more information, refer to the
Removing a
System Node
on page 113.
2. Remove the outer rails from the rack.
3. Push the hook on the rear outer rail downwards, then outwards.
4. Remove the outer rail.
5. Repeat the previous steps to remove the second rail.
3.4.2.2 Installing a 1U System Node mounting kit
To install the replacement System Node mounting kit:
1. Attach the outer rails to the rack.
Note: Verify that you are installing the correct rail on each side of the rack. The
rear of each rail is marked with “rear”.
a. Extend the outer rail enough that it extends between the two vertical rails of the rack.

b. Position the hook on the rear outer rail around the rear vertical rail.
c. Slide the rear outer rail pegs into the desired slots.
d. Position the hook on the rear outer rail over the rear vertical rail and then slide the rear outer rail
pegs into the desired slots. The clip at the rear of the rail kit is installed over the rack rail to hold it
in place.
