7.5.2 Module Housing Disassembly / Reassembly
Remove the module housing from the lower cover (see Paragraph 7.5.1).
•
Housing Disassembly
1.
Lift the module housing out of the ETM and place it on a flat surface,
cover uppermost. Remove the seven fixing screws from the module
housing top cover (refer to Figure 25) and lift off the top cover.
2.
Referring to Figure 25, carefully lift out the module eject plunger and
spring from the housing.
For future reference, note how these items locate in the body.
3.
Care must be exercised in the following operations because the
components are under spring tension and could be damaged or lost if not
removed carefully.
4.
Press the module release button whilst lifting upwards the module lock
with the other hand, gently withdraw the button until it is clear of the slot
in the module housing body. The tension on the module lock & module
release button springs is now released and the module lock pin may drop
out as the components are lifted out of the module housing body.
5.
To detach the module lock from the module release button, remove the
module latch pin (and the module lock pin if it is not already removed).
If the module has solenoid locking then step 6 must also be performed.
6.
To remove the solenoid assembly from the module housing top cover,
firstly remove the bracket fixing screw; followed by the solenoid
assembly fixing screw to detach the solenoid from the bracket. The
module housing assembly is now completely disassembled.

Re-assembly
1.
With reference to Figure 25, fit the module eject plunger & spring back
into the module housing body.
2.
Locate the module lock inside the module release button and insert the
module latch pin through both items followed by the module lock pin.
3.
Place the module release button assembly in the module housing body
such that the button locates in the slot of the body, but keep the other end
of the button raised ready for the springs to be inserted.
4.
Fit the module lock spring into the hole on the right hand side of the
module release button. Compress the spring enough so that the module
release button can be lowered into the channel of the module housing
body and the module lock should locate into the slot of the channel.
