6.1.7 Cleaning the Print Head
It is possible that because of a build up of printing detritus instances of faint printing may
occur). If this does happen, before taking more serious action, it is advisable to clean the
print head using a cotton bud and isopropanol alcohol. The detritus will show as a black line
as shown below:
6.1.8 Cleaning The Spigot (Shaft & Rotation Ball Bearing)
The accumulation of paper dust in the spigot shaft can cause the paper spigot to jam. To
prevent this the spigot should be cleaned periodically. The frequency depends upon the
amount of usage (i.e. -the no. of tickets) the machine prints on a daily basis.
WTS advises that the spigot shaft and rotation ball bearing should be cleaned either:
•
once a year
or
•
once every 100,000 tickets printed
To remove the paper roll spigot follow the instructions as described in Paragraphs 7.4.8.
Carefully brush and wipe the spigot shaft and spigot rotation ball bearing to clear away any dust
or debris. Do not use cloths that leave lint or other kinds of debris, and do not use any liquids or
chemicals, as the interior of the machine must be kept dry.
