Making connections
To make connections at the column outlet and detector inlet, and at the
detector outlet
1.
Seat each tubing end in the appropriate fitting.
2.
Seat each ferrule by tightening the compression screw 1/2-turn past
finger-tight.
Requirement:
To ensure accurate verification, power-on the detector before
pumping any mobile phase or solvent through the flow cell.
Recommendation:
To prevent reabsorption of dissolved oxygen (for systems
using vacuum degassers), Waters recommends that you run the solvent
degasser continuously when operating the detector at wavelengths less than
230 nm.
Making electrical power connections
To connect the detector to the ac power supply:
1.
Plug the receptacle end of the power cord into the ac input connector on
the rear panel of the detector (see the figure below).
2.
Plug the other end of the power cord into a properly grounded ac power
source.
