Fluid Level in the Clutch Reservoir
The reservoir with the clutch fluid is
located in the panel. To reache it, open
the panel upper cover plate, above the
steering wheel.
NOTE: When the clutch fluid level is below the normal, the lamp (2) will
start glowing on the panel of instruments.
Every 5 000 km check the fluid level in the reservoir.
Low level of fluid in the reservoir may permit the air ingress into the system. It
may reduce the clutch action in the transmission. In this case, the clutch coupling
will suffer premature wear of the components and the transmission synchronizer
also will have a reduced operation life.
Here is the procedure for checking of the fluid level in the clutch reservoir:
a) Reach the reservoir (1) and check if the level is at the MAX mark.
b) If the level is below that mark, add the brake fluid up to the MAX mark.
Every time when necessary to remove the clutch fluid, deposit it into a clean
recipient, without water and free of both mineral and vegetal impurities, in order
to avoid the oil contamination. And, if it is necessary to add more oil, always use
oil of the same brand and similar viscose to those that is already in the system.
NOTE: Do not exceed the MAX mark because during the vehicle motion
and vibration there may occur the fluid causing damages on the painting.
Bleeding of the Hydraulic Clutch
System
a) Complete the fluid level in the
reservoir (1) but not exceed the
MAX mark.
b) Activate the clutch pedal 2 to 4
times until the end of the course and
then keep it pressed.
c) Ask an auxiliary to loosen the
bleeding cap (2), eliminating the air
in the circuit, if there is any. The cap
should be open slowly to avoid the
liquid spilling over the neck.
NOTE: The cap (2) is located in the auxiliar cylinder, on the left side of
the engine and gearbox.
d) Ask close the cap and only then release the pedal.
NOTE:
If after the air elimination is detected that the operation is not still firm, cosult a
Volare Representative.
