2- New primary filter element installation procedure:
d) First push carefully the open side of the primary element (5) until it settles on
the bottom of the frame;
e) Install the cover (3). NOTE: The air filter discharge valve should stay
downward.
IMPORTANT: Push the cover till the end and ensure that the 3 lockings
(2) settle completely.
B) SECONDARY FILTER ELEMENT REPLACEMENT
IMPORTANT: The secondary element does not admit cleaning. It should
be change at every 5th change of the primary element (5) or annually, depending
on what occurs first.
a) Remove the cover and the primary
element according to the abovementioned
description, in item a) and b) of Procedure
for replacing the primary filter element;
b) Pull out the element (6);
C) TEST OF THE RESTRICITON SENSOR
The restriction sensor (7) indicates, by means of warning light, (1) on the panel,
an excessive restriction of the air passing through the filter.
For testing the restriction sensor operation, when in doubt, do as follows:
a) Switch on the engine and keep it at a low speed;
b) Remove the hose from the air entrance to the filter;
c) With a rigid sheet, glued wood, for example (never with your hands), obscure
the entrance of the air filter: restriction warning light (1) should start glowing on
the panel.
IMPORTANT: If the restriction warning light (1) does not start glowing,
the probable causes of these are: oxidation of the indicator contacts, blown-out
lamp, interrupted electric wiring or damaged sensor(7).
