c) Disactivate the parking brake;
d) Inspect the brake lining throuth the inspection openings situated on the brake
support plates;
e) Turn the adjusting pin until the shoe lining blocks the drum;
f) Turn the adjusting pin in the opposite direction until
two or three clicks (1/6 to ¼ turn of the adjusting pin)
for the shoe lining liberates the drum.
g) To compensate the shoe lining wear, make a ¼ turn
of the adjusting pin at a time;
h) If the axle comprises an actuating and emergency
chamber, release the spring carefully.
The brake system is provided with the protection valve
with 4 independent circuits, assuring the system, safe
pressure for its operation.
Brake Shoe Lining Check
Remove the internal covers from the wheel
(1) and check the brake shoe lining conditions
every 5 000 km.

impregnated with oil or grease, or those that
whith thickness equal or less than 3,8 mm on
the skids surface, should be immediately replaced.
NOTES:
The parking brake should be released only when the system pressure comes
to 9,0 bar;
If the vehicle remains with pressure, it may be moved only by means of mechanic
disactivation of the parking brake, near the actuator chambers of the rear axle.
The brake system features a protection valve with four independent circuits.
Thus, if there is a failure in one of the circuits, the necessary pressure is secured
in the others. It is called “security pression”. This provides for the user with an
emergency braking and the vehicle’s steering until a representative, but taking
the necessary precautions.
