Chapter 10 Scope

To launch the test:
1 With the P5000i scope, use the Focus Control button (see
Figure 99 on page 157 ) to adjust the image quality and sharpness.
With the P5000 scope, use the Brightness/Contrast or Auto
Contrast keys to adjust the image and sharpness
2 Press Test key to launch the test of plugged fiber connector.
or
With the P5000i exclusively, press the Focus control button on the
scope if the parameter
Probe button action is set to Freeze & Test
(see "Configuring the P5000/P5000i Scope" on page 157 ).
The test is completed:
–
once the Led Testing is no more lit in red
– once the icon is no more displayed on the upper banner
– once a screen as the following one displays:
A summary of test results is displayed on the right, upper part of the
screen.
– Zone A: represents the Core zone: it is the
area surrounding the core
– Zone B: represents the Cladding zone. It
surrounds the majority of the fiber cladding.
– Zone C: represents the Epoxy ring.
– Zone D: represents the Ferrule zone: it
identifies a portion of the ferrule near and
around the fiber
