EST
The trailer provided with your equipment has an electric or surge breakaway brake which engages if the trailer
separates from the towing vehicle. The electric system requires a 12-volt 5-amp/hr battery. Perform the
following system test:
Step 1:
If equipped with electric brake:
Disconnect trailer electrical connector.
Pull pin
(1)
out of switch
(2)

If equipped with surge brake:
Pull brake lever forward.
Step 2:
Attempt to move trailer forward with the towing vehicle. Substantial
brake drag should be noticed. If no brake drag is noticed, check the battery
condition and brake circuit wiring.
Step 3:
When testing is complete: For electric brake, insert pin back into switch.
Connect trailer electrical connector. For surge brake, engage brake lever.
NOTICE:
Prolonged or frequent activation of the switch will discharge the machine
battery.
WARNING:
Do not use breakaway device as a park brake.
