Generating Alarms and Inserting Errors into Tests

Selections made in the Alarm and Error sections are assigned to the 

Alarm Generation

 and 

Error Injection

 buttons respectively,

located on the right side of the screen (see 

OTN/SDH/SONET Screen Icons

). At any time during the test process, tap on these

buttons to inject errors or generate alarms.

Quick Access to Alarm and Errors Menu

Press the 

Set Injection

 button from any screen for quick access to an alarm and error settings menu with the same options as

the home menu's Alarm/Error screen. Selections made in this window also assign an alarm and error to the right hand side

buttons (see 

OTN/SDH/SONET Screen Icons

).
