• When installing the valves, make sure they are aligned
in such a way that the 15 mm connection of the expan-
sion relief valve (figure 4.5) can be connected to the
tundish.
• Install the discharge pipe of the expansion relief valve
(figure 4.4) with a constant outward inclination. The
drain pipe must end in a safe and visible point where
there is no risk of freezing.
a
Caution!
Risk of bursts for the domestic hot
water cylinder due to overpressure!
The outlet of the expansion relief valve
may not be covered or closed.
• Control the expansion relief valve (figure 4.4 item
1
)
regularly to avoid calcification.
• Connect the domestic hot water cylinder to the cylin-
der connection (figure 4.4 item
B
).
To ensure an optimum performance of the domestic hot
water cylinder, especially during installations in which
the pressure-controlled cold water connection (fig-
ure 4.4
item
B
) is used, copper pipes with a diameter of
at least 22 mm should be used for the pipe from the
main stop valve of the building to the domestic hot
water cylinder.
• Install the drain valve in the cold water pipe at the
lowest point between the domestic hot water cylinder
and the safety group
• Install the assembled safety group in the cold water
pipe in a suitable location next to the domestic hot
water cylinder. Make sure there is sufficient space for
maintenance and the connection of the discharge pipe
from the expansion relief valve.
If the discharge pipes are all together, the expansion re-
lief valve may not be installed more than 500 mm away
from the temperature and pressure compensating valve.
a
Caution!
Danger of bursting for the domestic hot
water cylinder!
No stop valve should be installed be-
tween the safety group and the cylinder.
The Vaillant geoTHERM heat pump with integrated do-
mestic hot water cylinder is supplied with an external
hot water expansion vessel (ADG).
Connect this expansion vessel to the installed safety as-
sembly as follows:
• Bolt the expansion vessel via the connection intended
for this purpose (figure 4.4 item
3
) directly onto the
safety group or
• Connect the expansion vessel to the water control
pack with a copper pipe or an appropriate hose. Make
sure the expansion vessel is supported sufficiently.
Use the supplied mounting bracket if the expansion ves-
sel is to be mounted on the wall.
• Establish (if necessary) the connection to the cold
water connection with pressure compensation of the
safety group (figure 4.4
item
B
).
h
Note!
In areas with high water pressure (4 bar
or more), a bath or shower mixer valve
can also be connected to the balanced
pressure cold water connection (figure
4.4 item 5) of the safety group. This is
to ensure that the pressure of the hot
and cold water supply to the mixer valve
is about the same. The cold water supply
for all other connections should be in-
stalled by means of a T piece to the do-
mestic hot water cylinder in front of the
safety group in the cold water pipe.
