Engine fails to start :
I. Gasoline is supplied to carburetors, no sparking a) no gap between plug electrodes, carbon deposit or dirt in spark
plugs,
break
down of insulator
b) Microprocessor unit failed c) faulty ignition coil d) break in low
-voltage
wiring
e) kill switch
a) undo spark plug, connect body to "ground" and check for sparking between electrodes c) if there is no spark when checking as described in Point 6 ignition coil is out of order d)
remove front cover
, switch
on the ignition, close distributor contacts, bring a screwdriver to core of ignition coil. If low vol
tage
circuit is intact, screwdriver will be attracted to
core
. If
screwdriver is not attracted to core, there is breakdown in
circuit
a) change faulty spark plugs, or
-
depending on their condition
- adjust gap
or clean b) Replace mic
roprocessor unit
c) Replace faulty ignition coil d) recover wiring
e) move to start position
