6.2.1
Adjusting the focus
Depending on the distance to the object to be photographed, use the macro switch
(8, figure 1) to adjust the distance.
•
Macro mode: use this setting when the object is at a distance of between 30
cm and 60 cm.
•
Micro mode: use this setting when the object is at a distance greater than 60
cm.
The wrong setting may produce photographs which are out of focus.
6.2.2
Zoom in and out
The camera has a 4x digital zoom function. The digital zoom increases the size of
the image by digitally processing it.
•
Zoom in:
Press the zoom in button (12, figure 1).
•
Zoom out:
Press the zoom out button (13, figure 1).
The zoom factor is displayed in the top left-hand corner of the LCD screen.
6.2.3 Resolution
Photographs can be saved in the memory in three different resolutions. The
resolution is set using the menu (see chapter 5.5.1). The Camera Manager program
can be used to increase the resolution to 4 Mpixels (see chapter 9.2).

Open the menu as described in chapter 5.5.

Select option 1, ‘Size’.
3.
Press the MENU/OK button.
4.
Select the desired resolution using the control buttons (12 and 13, figure 1).

Confirm the resolution using the MENU/OK button.
When must I use a certain resolution?
Low resolutions are recommended for photographs which are to be used on the
Internet.
High resolutions are recommended for photographs which are to be printed or
edited.

resolution: 1600 x 1200 and 2048 x 1536
Note:
The lower the resolution, the more photographs can be saved in the
memory.
6.2.4
Using the flash
The camera’s flash can be turned off or set to automatic. In the automatic setting,
the flash is only used when there is insufficient light. The effective distance of the
flash is 1.5 metres.
The flash can be set using the menu (item 2) (see chapter 5.5.1).
6.2.5 Automatic
exposure
You can use the automatic exposure function when you wish to take a photograph of
yourself or when you wish to photograph an object where the camera must be as still
as possible, for example on the stand.
