Using the camera
5.1 Making
recordings
5.1.1
Adjusting the focus
Before taking a photograph, you must set the distance from the object to be
photographed to the camera using the focus ring (B, figure 1). You can choose
between two different settings. The distance can be set from 40 cm to infinity. The
table below shows which symbol corresponds to which distance.

5.1.2
Setting the resolution
The TRUST 500F SPYC@M FLASH allows you to take photographs and to make
videos in two different resolutions. For photographs: high (1248 x 960) and low (624
x 480). For videos clips: high (624 x 480) and low (304 x 240). The default setting
when the camera is turned on is the high resolution. When in this resolution, you can
take 40 photographs and record 10 seconds of video. In the low resolution, you can
take 160 photographs and records 30 seconds of video. Carry out the following to
change the camera to the low resolution:
1.
Turn the camera on by pressing the mode button (I, figure 1) for a couple of
seconds.
2.
Next, press the mode button (I, figure 1). A number of times until a star is
visible on the LCD screen (6, figure 2).

If you now press the exposure button (C, figure 1), you can choose between
the high and low resolutions.
4.
‘H’ indicates the high resolution and ‘L’ indicates the low resolution.
5.
Once you have made a choice, press the mode button again to confirm your
choice.

The camera is automatically placed in the sleep setting when it is not
used for 60 seconds.
