Step 7:

Connect Portable/Desktop Computer to Stratagy DK

To program the Stratagy DK, an IBM-compatible portable/desktop computer must be
connected to the Stratagy and have the following:

◆

3.5” 1.44 (high-density) floppy drive

◆

Hard drive with a minimum of 5MB of available disk space

◆

DOS V6.2 or higher must be resident on the hard drive

◆

580KB RAM memory free

Communication between the portable/desktop computer and the Stratagy DK is
accomplished by one of two methods: local or remote.
Stratagy DK uses the serial Port 2 by default to communicate with the portable/desktop
computer (

). This setting can be changed using the

parameter

in the Stratagy System Configuration file (

Chapter 2 – Configuring Stratagy Table 2-18

for

detailed information).

Local Connection

Using a null-modem cable, connect the portable/desktop computer to the Stratagy DK.
A prefabricated cable (SG-ADMIN-CABLE), designed expressly for Stratagy Admin
communication with the Stratagy DK, is available from Toshiba.
