REC MENU
It is used to program timer recording events using VCR
Plus. You can use the Quick Menu on this screen to
check if you have enough remaining space on the disc
for the timer program. This navigation also displays the
history of all recording reservations since the internal
HDD was previously initialized.
EDIT MENU
This screen is used to create a chapter, edit a playlist,
create a DVD-R, make dubbing or deleting of selected
items.
Library
The Library displays the title recorded and registered in
the Toshiba HDD & DVD Video Recorder. You can select
and playback titles from here.
Dubbing
For the Toshiba HDD & DVD Video Recorder, dubbing
means both of move and copy in any direction, between
the HDD and a DVD-RAM disc.
Write Protect
This function prevents recorded content from being
accidentally deleted or edited. You can select and protect
specific titles on a disc, or protect the whole of DVD-RAM
disc. For the latter, use the write protect tab located on
the disc cartridge. You cannot record on the disc, if it is
write protected, even when it has free disc space.
Dolby Digital 1/2
These are the recording systems used for the HDD and/
or DVD-RAM disc. Sound is compressed to digital signals
for recording. It is restored into the original form for
playback. Settings 1 and 2 (“
D1”, “
D2”) are
different in the amount of data used. Setting 1 records in
Dolby Digital at 192 kbps, settings 2 records in Dolby
Digital at 384 kbps.
Linear PCM
This is an additional sound recording system unlike
Dolby Digital. No compression is used for Linear PCM,
but analog signals are sampled and converted into digital
signals while recording. Consequently, it requires much
more data than the Dolby Digital system.
