Using the optional DVD-ROM drive

The manual eject hole can be used to release the DVD-ROM tray
when the power is off.
HINT: The DVD-ROM drive will not open if the computer’s
power is off. If you cannot turn on the computer, you can
open the DVD-ROM drive manually. Use a straightened
paper clip or other narrow object to press the manual eject
button. This button is in the small hole just to the right of the
DVD-ROM eject button.
Inserting compact discs
To insert a disc into the DVD-ROM or CD-ROM drive:

Make sure the in-use indicator light is off.

With the computer’s power on, locate and press the DVD’s
eject button.
The disc tray slides partially out of the drive (about 1 inch).
HINT: The drive won’t open if the computer’s power is off.

Grasp the tray and pull it fully open.
