Never go over the crest of a hill at high speed. An 6.
obstacle, a sharp drop, or another vehicle or person
could be on the other side of the hill.
If the vehicle stalls while climbing a hill, apply the

brakes, stop. Place the direction selector switch in
reverse and slowly allow the vehicle to roll straight
downhill while applying light brake pressure to control
speed.
Remain alert and be prepared to take emergency

action.
TRAVELING DOWNHILL
When descending a hill:
1. Drive directly downhill.
2. Slow down.
3. Slightly apply brakes to help in slowing.
SIDE HILL RIDING
Driving on a sidehill is not recommended. Improper
procedure could cause loss of control or overturn. Avoid
crossing the side of any hill unless absolutely necessary.
In the event you do enter into a situation where side hill
riding is unavoidable:
Slow down. 1.
Exercise extreme caution. 2.
Steer slightly into the hill to maintain vehicle direction. 3.
Avoid crossing the side of a steep hill (15° maximum). 4.
IF THE VEHICLE BEGINS TO TIP, QUICKLY TURN THE
FRONT WHEEL DOWNHILL, IF POSSIBLE.
