RIDING GEAR: RECOMMENDATIONS
VANISH riding in rough terrain requires special protective
clothing and equipment to help reduce chances of injury.
Helmet – Your helmet is the most important piece of
•
protective gear for safe riding. A helmet can prevent
severe head injury.
Make sure your helmet meets or exceeds your state’s safety
standards and bears either the Department of Transportation
(DOT) label, the American National Standards Institute label
(ANSI z90.1), or the Snell Memorial Foundation label.
Eye Protection – Do not depend on sunglasses or the
•
windshield for eye protection. A pair of goggles or
helmet face shield offers the best protection for your
eyes. They should be shatterproof and should be kept
clean. Check for one of these marks to be sure your
choice of eye protection is of shatterproof design: z2.1
or VESC8.
Clothing – To protect your body, long sleeves and pants
•
should always be worn. It is also suggested that your
footwear should be ankle or higher boots.
PRECAUTIONS DURING MAINTENANCE
Always disconnect the main power connector before servicing
or unplugging any electrical components.
Always follow all safety instructions in the maintenance portion
of this owner’s manual, as well as the following:
