TIGHTNESS
The following items should be checked occasionally for
tightness.
HUB NUT TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS
Front Hub Nuts
42 – 45 ft. lbs (58-62 Nm)
Rear Hub Nuts
78 – 81 ft. lbs (108-112 Nm)
NOTE: All nuts that have a cotter pin installed must be serviced
by an authorized dealer.
FRONT WHEEL HUB TIGHTENING
Front wheel bearing tightness and spindle nut retention are
critical component operations.
Service work must be performed by your authorized
TOMBERLIN AUTOMOTIVE GROUP dealer.
ACCELERATOR FREEPLAY
If the accelerator pedal has excessive play due to cable stretch
or incorrect adjustment, it will cause a delay in accelerator
response, especially at low motor speed. The accelerator may
also not open fully.
ACCELERATOR FREEPLAY INSPECTION
Place the transmission in neutral. Set the parking

brake.
Turn key switch on.

Measure the distance the accelerator pedal moves
3.
before the motor begins to pick up speed. Freeplay
should be 1/8 to 1/4 inches.
