v2.0 module components
The Security, Auditing, and E
‑
signature (SAE) v2.0 module includes three components:
• SAE Administrator Console that an administrator uses to configure the module.
• SAE server that stores settings, user accounts, audit records, and e-signature records. By default,
the SAE server is installed on the same computer as the SAE Administrator Console.
• SAE screens in an application (sign in and audit that a user interacts with). The QuantStudio
™
7 Pro
Real-Time PCR System is an application.
The Security, Auditing, and E
‑
signature (SAE) v2.0 module provides the following SAE functionality on
the instrument:
•
System security
—Controls user sign in and access to functions
•
Auditing
—Tracks changes and actions performed by users.
•
E-signature
—Allows users to provide an electronic signature (user name and password) when
performing certain functions.
Overview of the instrument features when the SAE module
is enabled
The following instrument features are not available when the SAE module is enabled:
• Facial authentication
• Voice commands
• Linking to the Connect cloud-based platform, including using a Connect cloud-based platform
account to log in
• System templates
Only SAE-enabled plate files that were created in the QuantStudio
™
Design and Analysis Software
v2 can be opened on the instrument.
