Installation Procedures

2.1.5.2 Installing a 38-mm Fan Housing

Perform the following steps to install a 38-mm fan housing:

1.

Insert the replacement 38-mm fan housing into the position formerly occupied
by the removed housing, aligning the two holes at the bottom of the new fan
housing with the alignment keys at the bottom of the chassis (see

Figure

2-11

).

2.

Connect the 3-pin fan cable connector from the new 38-mm fan housing to the
original connectors from which the replaced fan-housing cables were re-
moved. The cable connector is keyed to prevent incorrect cable insertion.

3.

Reinsert and tighten the two screws at the bottom of the fan housing with a
Phillips screwdriver until the fan housing is firmly secured to the chassis.
