A2. Music on hold service
The T40 model equipped with four telephone lines, has the capability to use the fourth line as music on hold
source for the PBX (if you use this service, the system group is reduced to three lines).
Music on hold is stored at best quality, 8 Kbytes/seconds rate, on the system CF memory. It is possible to
concatenate severals messages or musics selecting them from ones stored in CF memory.
It is possible to store up to 10 music/message files. The files must resides in the SYS directory and they
must have fixed names: FONIA0.VOX, FONIA1.VOX, up to FONIA9.VOX.

The playlist activation is simply done programming in general parameter the “music on hold” field (see 7.1).
Insert the playlist as number sequence from 0 to 9 (max 5 selections). For example if the field contains
12238, T40 will play in sequence FONIA1.VOX, FONIA2.VOX, FONIA2.VOX, FONIA3.VOX e FONIA8.VOX.
At the end of the cycle, play restarts form the first one.
To disable the music on hold output you must leave the relative field empty in general parameters.
Upload messages/music files through Zmodem (with similar message import procedure). To upload files,
press “U” to exit (application will stops). A system command prompt will appears, then digit as follows:

In the HyperTerminal window from the menu, chose “Transfer” and “Send file”. Browse to find the file you
would like to upload and confirm with “send”. If the transferring file has the FONIAx.VOX name it is ready to
be used. Otherwise, you must rename it. For example, if the file name is WAIT.VOX and you want to place
to the music file number 3:

(ignore “file not found” message)

ren wait.vox fonia3.vox <enter>
At this point, you can proceed to upload other music or restart the software, with these commands:
