7. SYSTEM CONFIGURATION
7.1. General
Parameters
General Parameters setup the system global working, as hold criteria, dial tones, system identification
number, etc.
Choosing General Parameters the following window is showed:
Selection (T/P)
: T40 dialing mode. Choose
T
for DTMF tones or to
P
for Pulse Dialing.
DTMF Time
: defines DTMF dialing Tone duration, in mSec.
Flash On
: put on hold digit sequence. Normally is not necessary to change this parameter (the “
&
” indicates
the
flash
, the comma “
,
” indicates a 2 sec. pause). A common case for much PBX could be require another
digit after the
flash
criteria (for example
flash
plus
2
: in this case “
&,2,
” that is
flash, pause, 2, pause.
Flash Off
: the code to take back a call previously placed on hold.
Flash Time
: duration in mSec of flash signal.
Interdigits
: the delay that T40 must wait before process callers selections when they navigates system
menu.
Pause menu:
the time between menu repetition.
Max Time Call
: the maximum call duration before the system close it.
Min Time Msg
: T40 does not store caller’s messages shorter than this value. Thanks to this parameter,
when caller hangs up not leaving a valid message, it isn’t recorded in the mailbox space. If this value is set
to “0” all messages will be saved.
Max Time Msg
: this is the maximum duration available to callers to leave a message. This is useful to limit
mailbox messages at predefined maximum time.
Silence Stop Rec
: during a message recording, if the caller stops to talk until this time elapse, recording will
stop.
PBX digit length
: number of digits that composes PBX extensions. T40 does not allow mixed numeration
plan (3 and 4 digit extensions for example)
PO extension
: T40 must know the operator’s extension number. T40 will refer to this number every time the
operator is requested. Even when a real operator does not exist in the company, an operator extension
number must be created in the system.
Protection Notific.
: this parameter is used to avoid that T40 records itself when notify a message to an
extension diverted on T40. This function is useful when the system is services integrated to a PBX.
Wait Ext Answers
: this is the waiting time on extension ringing. After this time, T40 understands that there is
no answer to the call. It is possible to set this time individually for each extension. (See “Modify Extension”).
Verify Selection
: To be set if you prefer that T40 check, every time a caller select an extension, the effective
extension existence. If extension exist the T40 connect the call otherwise inform the caller that a wrong
extension was required. Leave this mark empty if you prefer that all possible selection made by callers could
be permitted.
