10.4. Exit option tables
The exit option tables define what T40 has to do with the caller when it is not possible to reach the
extension. It is possible to preselect different actions for busy and no answer condition, choosing from 9
different tables. An automatically composed menu including the selected actions is then presented to the
caller.
From main window, press “T” (exit table): this window appears:
The “Exit options” can be combined to allow T40 to plays the corresponding voice menu when it cannot
reach the extension required. The DF, DB, NF and NB columns stands for “extension Free in Day mode” (no
answer), “extension Busy in Day mode”, “extension Free in Night mode” and “extension Busy in Night
mode”.
When T40 cannot reach an extension, in accord to active exit options (the options Call Operator and Record
are active in the above example) it plays the messages “The extension required is not available, press 1 to
call the operator, 2 to leave a message, 3 to go back to menu” is played for a programmable number of
times ( the “repetition” parameter).
If the caller does not make any selection, the programmed final action take place (in the example hangs up).
Note: The exit menu is build by T40 playing default messages queued; for example: “press” + “0 to
return to main menu” + “2 to leave a message” + “or” + “hold the line to be connected to the
operator”. In this pre-assembled function the digit function cannot be changed. Consequently also
associated messages cannot be changed.
